I don't think you could have just straight-up went around it, anyway, though. I think the first smaller guard post you could have but that one major one at the halfway point I think you had to go through it. I could be wrong since I wasn't really trying to avoid it since I was hoping to get as many materials and tapes from bases as I can.
Yeah, I completely gave up on no-kill-no-retry-from-checkpointing the Honeybee mission about a half hour in when I totally fucked up that part halfway through with the really big base under the bridge and didn't notice one guard I didn't take out caught me and set the whole base on alert, so I thought I'd see what the support copter would do and it ended up killing everybody when I thought it would just cause a distraction or something. Whoops. God I can't wait until the tranq sniper rifle unlocks.
I went back and looked at my reflections when Ground Zeroes came out and it's kind of interesting reading it now, seeing some issues that I mentioned that were indeed fixed like knocking on walls and things that weren't such as the lack of any real radio conversations. As far as I've read, Phantom Pain performs similarly to Ground Zeroes as far as the framerate is concerned, expect it to dip into the 20s pretty much constantly. However, that dithering effect I mentioned was also an issue with Ground Zeroes on PC that, as far as I've played, seems to have been completely fixed with Phantom Pain on PC. However, Phantom Pain will very likely still suffer from major pop-in issues on PS3 like Ground Zeroes did. I thought Ground Zeroes was...playable when it came out, but it's a major step down from the PS4/XB1 versions and especially PC versions. I would say if PS3 is your only option, much like how it was for me when Ground Zeroes came out, it's still very much worth playing through, even with the hiccups. It's not worth it to miss out on this game.
And I'm pretty sure the mindset I had when I wrote this was "It'll come out at the end of the year". Ha. ha. Also the cover of "The Man Who Sold The World" is so unbelievably fucking good I can't believe I didn't even realize what it was when the trailer came out with it.
Friendly reminder to please for fuck's sake use spoiler tags for any remotely minute thing related to the story. It really is not that hard, Pope, you were literally the one complaining about it just moments ago and you just spoiled something for me, possibly something huge, so thanks.
Best chopper song. Any other answer is wrong. No I don't care that there are tires screeching in it fuck you Also my PS4 Collector's Edition shipped without any dings to the box which I was super worried about. Still kinda annoyed that I had to get two copies of the game just to get a physical collector's edition but hey whatever. Looks beautiful anyway.
Virtually nothing from the PS3 PSN library is compatible with PS4. Nothing is so much jettisoned so much as the content is completely seperate. You play PS3 stuff on PS3, PS4 stuff on PS4. You can have one PSN account on both consoles.
