Considering the level of hype, love for the series and respect for fellow members, I expect everyone to spoiler everything until a sufficient number of us have completed the game (probably for a few months). We managed with MGS4 (I think, I'd have to read earlier in the thread), we can do it now. I don't think my anticipation can get any bigger though. It'll be nice to have closure with the series, and have one hell of a game to go with it.
Here's the link to do what Jazz is talking about with installing it from USB. Just make sure you have a 64 bit version of whichever OS you own (Windows 7 Home, you should get the 64 bit Home, if you have Professional, get Professional...etc) and download the ISO from those links I gave you. Also, sharpness seems to be turned up waaaay too high on that TV. Turn that down to something comfortable. If you were using VGA before, of course you wouldn't get such issues...it's pure (analog) RGB and the TV sees it as that. Like Jazz says, TV monitors can apply a fuckload of different filters to your image over HDMI. I would go with 'standard' or at least turn the sharpness level down.
No. You can use it as many times as you want, as long as two instances of it aren't running at the same time. I reinstalled Windows 7 a ton of times. I really can't think of anything super obvious with the monitor issue though...is it text itself that is hard to read, or everything? I would hit 'Auto' to let it adjust, but it probably won't do anything because that's usually only for analog monitors. If it's just text, it might be ClearType fucking with you (and that's easily adjustable/togglable).
This I actually had no idea about, but when I think about it, it really shouldn't make a difference as long as if it's Home to Home or Pro to Pro. I'll see what I can find about 'fuzzy' issues. Is there any way you could take a picture of your monitor?
It's most likely a hard drive error, common in laptops. Not much more you can do other than replace it. I'm really sorry man, I wish I could be there to help. I promise it gets better after the initial bullshit stage, you'll see the returns start piling up. I would definitely get the 64 bit OS first and go from there. How are you hooking up your display? The blurry problem is something that's not very common.
Yeah, you have to get 64 bit to use all of your RAM. I would ask for a refund, but before you do that, burn a 64 bit ISO of Windows to install with your new key. It could be your monitor fucking up. Do the max resolution allowed; to us, that screenshot looks normal (well other than those sweet tabs man).
