We are doing it. We are making it happen.

The fifth anniversary YouChew Festival will be upon us in a month, and as we prepare for the festivities on our end, we'd like to hear from you guys about what can be done to make this the best goddamn celebration ever.

You can come up with your ideas for events and booths and such, I encourage you to, but it here we really want to know what the staff can do to accommodate everyone, how we can dress up the site, that sort of thing.

It should be noted that contrary to last year's system of applying to become a Festival organizer, which was of course a complicated clusterfuck, this year you should be able to simply make your thread and wait for it to be approved for public viewing. We'll probably need a handful of active, trustworthy members with good judgement to help the staff out with that particular job.

For starters, try to remember last year's festival (:/) and imagine how we could improve on it.

A few ideas:
-games/competitions such as speed runs and endurance tests. I liked the megaman speed/slow runs last year. -We could even do megaman again or maybe battle toads.
-freestyle rap competition
-video game remix and/or fake videogame music collaboration album to celebrate the festival
-image editing contest
-image caption contest
-some sort of team competition
-youtube poop collab related to the festival or maybe just another collab like the 30 second collab or 15 second collab. Something short but poop related.
-best ear rape award

I was throwing around ideas in chat last night for a Gamefaqs-esque 128-man BEST CHARACTER poll, including but not limited to characters like King Harkinian, Mama Luigi, John Madden, etc. 128 characters, 8 divisions, bracket elimination.

I don't know how long we can run this, though. Maybe 8 polls a day and narrowing when we get close to the grand finals?

Also, I told SashicX that we should have a Mario Kart 7 tournament down. The only track that we won't be using is Maka Wuhu, for obvious reasons.

I'm still thinking about doing my music request booth, but I'm also flirting around with possibly doing a custom t-shirt booth. I know it'll be hard to do, considering that I would be mailing t-shirts to people I don't know IRL, but it'll be an interesting challenge. Like, I can make custom stenciled shirts based on YCP injokes, events, and all that sort of stuff.

I don't think you understand the point of the YouChew festival, or YouChew in general. It's to have fun, not to make YTPs. Sure, the main theme for the site is either watching or making them, but plenty of people around here don't do either, or just one.

On topic, maybe you can come up with some Festival banners/make a skin a bit more colorful (white with green, orange, etc) and festive by default?

I was thinking that since everyone else would will take the good ideas to host that I'd set up shop as a "fractured request grab bag" thing. You get your request, but without knowing whether or not it is going to be in video, bitmap image, vector image, Torchic*, or "a combination if you're lucky" form to make it "your request, but not exactly what you may have wanted."

*Why yes, these would be leftovers from my Torchic thing last time. Except this time you'd need Black or White, and I wouldn't be able to nickname any of them.
