Deaniac Posted January 13, 2017 Quick doodle I put together of arbitrary Little Mac DLC for Nintendo Arms (but instead of ribbon or springs his arms are just wireframe):

Cantfly Posted January 15, 2017 Putting a callout to all my animator and artist friends on here. Anyone able to hook me up with some good animated footage of fights? I'm primarily looking for mano-a-mano fisticuffs type of stuff, no weapons and whatnot. Unless those weapons are something you'd put on your fists or feet to punch and kick, anyway. I know some of you guys helped me out when I put a callout a while back for some good animated explosion reference material, so if you could hook me up with a good database for some delicious hand-to-hand combat then I'd be greatly appreciative. In case you're wondering, it's for my thesis film I'm working on for school, and I'm in the storyboarding phase at the moment. Want to make sure I have a good base to work off of before I move on to the subsequent phases.

Maq Posted January 15, 2017 @Cantfly The first thing that comes to my head is the fight scene at the end of the Cowboy Bebop movie with Spike and Vincent. I don't really know if this was what you're looking for though
Cantfly Posted January 16, 2017 Anything's fine as long as it's hand to hand combat of some sort. Just need a good quantity of references to study. Of course, you did pick a classic. I doubt I have the time to make something look as good as that entire scene but I'll try and pick out stuff that looks good.
SushieBoy Posted January 16, 2017 Full Metal Alchemist/Brotherhood has some good ones: video I recommend checking out sakugabooru, it's a big resource of animation webms, you might find some references there.

HotFriedSkadoosh Posted January 16, 2017 @Psychotime If I may ask, where do you host your comic, and how is it working out for you? I ask because I'm considering moving my webcomic to a new host and rebuilding from the ground up, as the site could use a lot of updating and fine-tuning and I thought it would be better to start from scratch. I use Homestead and most of my site management is done manually, from updates to design to the RSS feed, and I don't use Comic Press either, which I know a lot of other webcomic authors use but I never bothered with it, but that might change if it's absolutely necessary.
Psychotime Posted January 17, 2017 21 hours ago, HotFriedSkadoosh said: @Psychotime If I may ask, where do you host your comic, and how is it working out for you? Just Smackjeeves. Got the full package and bought a domain from Godaddy to attach it to. Messed with the html templates to get the look that I want. Highly recommended. From what I can see it's not just the cheapest option, but also the most organized. Smackjeeves saves alot of headaches that come with hosting a comic, specifically because it was made to do so. I recommend starting off with a free account and getting the hang of the service for a month before buying anything. Mess with your templates and things there. (Under a free account you can't host non-comic files through the service, but there's nothing stopping you from linking to, say, files on a tumblr page) I'm not a web designer, so I referred to the information on this site to learn and test HTML and CSS. http://www.w3schools.com/html/
zoc Posted January 18, 2017 I'm just gonna say right now that all ya'll have some fuckin' NUTS ass drawing skills and easily trump my comparatively pathetic attempt at 'art', but I spent a while on this lil piece and I overall feel pretty impressed with my work so I figured I'd show it off cus why not (discord chat liked what they saw) It's based off an RPG Maker character (from a DLC pack) that I'm making for my game, basically redrew it in my style. As you'll prolly notice, it's a bit of a Peanuts-esque style (w/ the large head and all) and maybe a bit chibi-like. I put A LOT more detail into this than I was expecting and I was surprised at how it came out. It's definitely not perfect imo, probably should have redrew the mouth and the eyebrows could be a bit refined I suppose. Right hand making the peace sign could look a bit less awkward. Overall looks a bit rough but the cartoony look is intentional since it's my style. Hope it's not atrocious I guess lol
Maq Posted January 18, 2017 That's a really cute style! I can tell you put effort into it. If you keep practicing you'll improve in no time. :3
