Personally, I think if it's used properly, SuS and JoJ are kinda funny.

Ear rape and glitch can be enjoyable as long as it doesn't take up most of your video and it's more complex than just turning the volume up all the way.

I do hate YTP's where the humour comes from how horrible they are. O i am laffin.

That "Ironside theme staredown" thing people used to do a lot. It's not funny and just wastes time. at least sus jokes can be short.

 

Speaking of which, I think sus jokes can be good depending on what is being sussed. If it's just any old sound, there's no humor in it.

Anyway, something I haven't liked about many poops these days is that somehow, ear rape is usually paired with making the picture shake around like an earthquake, sometimes coupled with tinting things red or whatever.

 

I just...don't think it really makes it any funnier personally. Call me old-fashioned, but I prefer adding ear rape just for the sake of ear rape. I get a good kick out of the justaposition of loud-blaring ear rape whilst still seeing a normal video picture. (i.e. SeductiveBaz)

I think the main reason I have a problem with it, is that adding that kind of effect to ear rape seems to convey "anger" (if not a similar extreme emotion). It could be funny using it with a clip that looks or sounds angry or angry-ish to begin with in order to exacerbate the emotion for comedic effect, but if it's just used throughout most of the poop regardless of the content, I find it to be a bit annoying in that regard.

Who says ear rape always has to equal "rage"?

Not all poops from pre-2009 are like that.

 

Some of them still hold up pretty well to this day, such as some of the Electric Cheese's poops for example. Seriously, go watch his old stuff.
