Who'll pray for Peter Pumpkinhead, indeed?
This leaves me in tears of joy; tears that are also full of hope
I know this song's a bit cheesy, but still...the last two surviving Beatles singing to each other? Damn.
This touches the inner-child inside me; makes me happy and tearful
I don't know what it is, but this song sends shivers down my spine.
The lyrics in this song really touch me, and although they describe horrible images and exude a general air of dread and hopelessness I find them oddly uplifting in their acknowledgement that although our actions in this life may seem utterly pointless and inconsequential, they may one day constitute small yet necessary contributions to a kinder, more meaningful society in the distant future: Even though we may not live to witness the effects of the things we do to make this world a better place, it is very important that we keep doing them.
this song. i don't think any explanation i can try to give this song can back it up for what it's worth. it's the necessary ending to lift your skinny fists, and i would have it no other way.
I think this is the song that's going to best reflect this decade (or at least the second half of it) for me... primarily when I escape my current situation above all else.
I want to die to this piece.
Odd that a band with this name would have lyrics that resonate in such a positive way, but dammit
