What Can the Writing Staff Do For You? II

Biodegradable

Hullo there, everybody.

Back in March 2013, the Writing Staff asked the community at large what you lot would ideally like to read more of and help us gauge the kind of content you'd like to see written more often. Today, we're reaching out to the community once again. While we're not a newspaper and readership numbers aren't the be all and end all for us, we'd still like to see more engagement and interaction when it comes to our articles. Truth be told, we've hit a slight slump in productivity recently and a lot of us have been a little lost for ideas for topics to write about. How do we deduce what kind of topics YouChew really responds to? That's where all of you come in. We'd like to know your opinion on our output of work over the past year or so, your thoughts on the stuff we write about, suggestions you may have for us regarding future topics and just a general consensus on what the YouChewian readership is like today.

We're not asking for more applicants, though you are always welcome and guest submissions are always encouraged. Instead, we're asking you, any of you, to take the time to post below how the Writing Staff could better your reading experience. Keep in mind we don't plan on pandering to you as each writer on staff has their own passions and interests they want to write about, but we're very much encouraging you to give us an idea of how we can keep you engaged. Tell us anything and all your thoughts on the type of work we've been putting out lately, what you'd like to see more of or just how you reckon we could improve if you see any faults.

Naturally, we'll never be able to write things that cater to everyone and some of you probably never read anything we publish and that's perfectly fine. Regardless, we'd like to know what you have to say.

Thank you very much for your time.

I do not have anything detailed or precise I want to read about, but my current favourites on the internet are Cracked's music related articles. You're all doing a great job and I appreciate you for what you're doing! One day I might be confident enough to put in my own Staff submission.

You know, I'd really appreciate further responses here. We can't really leave it off with just one response that honestly is a bit vague at hand (even though it's better than absolutely nothing).

it's ok for the writing staff to talk about whatever they want to talk about, really.

I was interested in a grand scale ytper survey or research. Maybe people could propose questions, and the best ones get into the survey. It would be a nice topic for the writing staff to write about as well imo.

I'd like to see more interviews with fellow poopers. Especially some the of the long runners.

Somewhat related to the above suggestion, perhaps a "Where are They Now?" series of articles and/or interviews could be interesting, delving into the lives of former poopers and focusing on what they've moved on to, career or hobby wise.

i don't really have anything in particular i'd want. when i was on the writing staff, there weren't really too many interviews being conducted. perhaps some more? maybe with more than just youtube poopers???

at this point i'm just grasping at straws for suggestions, since everything is still pretty alright in my book.

We're more or less just trying to get a better idea of people might like to see more of and feedback on what we've been putting out. Don't worry about having ideas to throw at us. We appreciate everyone who comments on this thing.

I've generally liked the movie reviews written by you guys. I'd enjoy seeing more of those. Maybe some more music reviews too.

Well as many others have said in here. Interviews, reviews (video games, music, tv shows, movies, etc.) and possibly some "opinion" articles could help spruce up some discussions. Can't really think up much.

You might consider publishing articles that serve as YTP How To guides. You could discuss how fundamental effects are made with certain software , or offer a sort of glossary of video and audio editing terms and features and how they can be manipulated. (e.g. what is chroma keying, and why does it matter?)
