Recommended YouTube Poops of July 2018

Crazy Luigi
  • As much as it pains me to say this, with the recent announcement of YouChew shutting down, it might very well be our last Recommended YouTube Poops article of YouChew's existence.

Of course, you know I wouldn't mean to put this article out so late into the month of August, but if you followed YouChew throughout the last week or so, you would know the circumstances at hand here. When the user named Bya (now known as Geisty) created her thread talking about her past and how it turned out she was being sexually groomed by some ex-users here (including a former mod of ours), it caused some serious conversations with ourselves that we needed to discuss regarding the future of this very website as we know it. Long story short, it was decided that YouChew would eventually be shut down, but thankfully, two new websites would take its place with YTPMania and Neon Castle fulfilling the desires that both sides wanted here. Unfortunately, this also means that we're nearing the end of this saga of ours on this very website. I'm not sure if we're going to even do something similar at either website, but for as long as this website still stands, you guys deserve to at least get our final decisions at hand before moving to either (or both) location(s) moving forward. So with that out of the way, let's get this piece started already!

Crazy Luigi's Pick: "when u ytp" by Zevio

When looking through my past entries this year, I noticed one thing immediately came to my mind lately: I hadn't posted any YouTube Poops revolving around the focus on brain-rape (or rapecore or whatever the proper term is for it). However, there has been a reason why that's the case; ever since thebluespectre's interview on Kitajima came out (more specifically, the mention of being different), I just haven't been able to see many of the brain-rape/ear-rape YouTube Poops the same way that I used to. What once filled me with promise and intrigue has nowadays felt dull for me, as if everything relating to the genre feels the same these days. It doesn't help that up until recently, it didn't feel like anything that came out would fix that bleak situation this year. Luckily, there was not one, but two YouTube Poops released this past month to fix this problem: one by fiv95, and another by Zevio. Ultimately, while fiv95's video can be considered a masterpiece for the genre, Zevio's video has a bit of extra in a shorter video that warrants more of a viewing here.

Before I do talk about why it warrants more viewings than it has right now, I should note that Zevio's video is actually more of a three-way Tennis match video between himself, GSgiraffes, and Master Sword than a standalone video of sorts. That being said, the way this video displays itself makes it feel unique for something that actually does feel like a standalone video! Seriously, the way the video starts out may be fast-paced and frantic as fuck, but boy, does it give out quite the introduction. Just the first ten seconds alone showcases a lot on what makes this particular video so special, especially the clever (Mario) Paint stuff at hand. However, it's not just the incredulous nature of the brain rape on display here that makes this video stand out on its own accord (even though it is a very major reason why I chose this video). It's also the fact that it does everything else on display, to the point where it almost feels like a celebration of YouTube Poop as a whole over the last 10+ years of its existence.

Throughout the video, many different sources and video editing techniques were used to showcase the completely hectic nature YouTube Poops can still have on our society. Techniques like sentence mixing, repetition of certain things, dance scenes, and a bit more help spice up the viewing pleasure for the user. Meanwhile, the sources added throughout the video (assuming you can distinguish them properly) helps give the title an extra meaning, almost like a modern-day tribute to YouTube Poop as a whole. Sources (or psuedosources) like manwith10toes, The Simpsons, the face of former Philadelphia 76ers/Phoenix Suns great Charles Barkley (who's oddly the face of Space Jam memes for some reason, not that I'm complaining about it), a crying devil ray, the AVGN, Anthony Fantano, Doug Walker, Andy Milonakis, and many more to find all leave their marks on this, all of which also provide some fascinating aspects of their own to this project. Honestly, there's not much I can say to this besides just watch this thing! This probably is one of those kinds of videos where it's best to go into it as blind as you possibly can; after all, this is a journey that's just as worthwhile as the destination.

TheOneManBoxOffice's Pick: "It all started with Charmx throwing a table, then throwing a chair, then throwing up" by 𝛽𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴

Apparently, summer is the best time to pull out the best of brain-rape, and such is the case with one of 𝛽𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴' latest offerings into the fray with one hell of a long title, and the source he uses is exactly what the title describes it as, Charmx throwing a table and chair. With that, and the handy work of what I think is Sony Vegas, 𝛽𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴 turns his source into not only a brain-rape YouTube Poop, but a YouTube Poop Music Video, a la Triple's "Big Beat Mario" from 2009 (God, has it really been eight years since that?). What grabs my attention the most about this is the visuals, especially during the final stages of the video where it gets colorful. Plus, the audio alone is worth hearing on a trance album or as a single track on Soundcloud. The video is fast-paced, visually in your face, and the final product is all over the place (hey, that rhymes). So, to put it simply: the video can be described in one word: cool.

Dieathan's Pick: "(YTP) Michael Lands in Hot Water" by Nintendom64

Nintendom64 has been really working hard to top his past efforts with each YouTube Poop he makes, and here with the latest video he has served, he has managed to do it yet again.

What we're given here is a flash YouTube Poop rife with sentence-mixing and stupendous keyframing and jokes on all fronts at a good pace, with a particular focus on Michael Rosen. Just watching Rosen getting sucked down the drain only to come back up through the sewers with a decapitated Toad head always gave me a good chuckle if only because of how much it makes me ponder about what the hell actually went on down in the Mushroom Land while he was there. Speaking of which, not only does he make the most of the various clips featuring Rosen, but through the use of pitch-shifting courtesy of Mighteyes, he also manages to re-purpose those same clips to represent completely different characters such as Harrybo and PC Chutney the police officer, showcasing the diversity that can be created through small but significant adjustments, and even partly playing into the direction of the YouTube Poop itself. It's quite surprising how much mileage one can get from a man who's often shown just above his torso and nothing more, but every bouncy motion that the characters make do a great job at bringing the characters to life as well.

Altogether, a wonderful story of a YouTube Poop has been crafted here, and I can't recommend it any more than I already have.

NitroEdits' Pick: "(YTP) Dong" by Master Sword

Back then, the world of fast paced YouTube Poops and off the wall editing was the norm, around 2010 to 2012, the fast paced YouTube Poops dominated the scene, introducing us to the likes of TimoteiLSD, Avojaifnot, and Imaperson, among others. While all 3 aren't active in any vicinity as of me writing this, that era paved the way for a new era of YouTube Poops that combined the fast paced insanity with something even more that nobody saw coming.

Master Sword is just one of the YouTube Poopers nowadays filling that hole In the community, along with the likes of Zevio, Gigawatt, and a countless amount of others. Master Sword introduced a faster pace to his videos as of last year and with this one it truly shows that it has gradually evolved from imitation to the new standard, which includes effects at a bludgeoning speed and jokes that never get stale and old as the jokes are used sparingly and tie in very well to the rhythm of the video. Even better is the effect at near the end with a totem pole jutting out after supposedly killing Diddy and Donkey Kong and then staging a callback to the most known of all the Donkey Kong Country campiness the show is arguably known for. Master Sword takes an already campy series and makes it even more of a masterpiece than the source material itself was asking for. He's definitely proven to the community that he is not to be counted out and this video only serves as a startling yet refreshing reminder of days gone by and how some of the qualities that brought YouTube Poop forth as a whole way back when has never lost it's touch with the budding talent that is the YouTube Pooping scene.

Mackenzie's Pick: "Despacito 2 (Parody Video)" by FlyingKitty

From the creators of Despacito, here's Despacito 2! But wait... Despacito 2 doesn't feel real. Instead, it seems to have been created by the critically acclaimed new-age meme wizard, FlyingKitty, who brought us gems like SOMEBODY ONCE TOUCHA MY SPAGHET and HUMBLE but Kendrick has a mental breakdown and many more before this. It's like any classic, unwarranted movie sequel; nobody asked for it, but we still have to endure it. The studio got a new director, but the performers still remain the same. However, this is one of the rare occasions, where the sequel is considerably more interesting than the first installment in the series.

The sentence-mixing varies from referencing other popular memes of the past year, including the Lord Farquaad x Markiplier E, Yeah Boi and Begone Thot to rhyming random sentences with Despacito, such as "took a shito" or "ate my burrito", the latter being probably my favourite part of the entire video. Other times, FlyingKitty just generates absolutely nonsensical sentences, which are hilarious in all of their absurdity and randomness.

FlyingKitty's visual style should be very recognizable by now, if you're familiar with any of their earlier hits. Overlayed images and memes, with masked clips and distorted, fast moving and repeated effects. In a divergent, imaginative bunch like this, each method flows into one another perfect harmony, both alone and together.

In addition to the source being extremely popular, with clean visuals on a level this high and sentence-mixing that's insanely well put together, it's not a massive surprise that the video has gathered over 20 million views in just a few days over a month. Well, maybe the fact that just the name Despacito 2 has been a popular meme for months already has also helped.

And that concludes what we feel are the YouTube Poops from July 2018 that we feel should be recommended here. Usually I'd talk about your personal favorites that might have been missed out on earlier on, but instead, I need to get some things out of my chest after our recent shutdown announcements. First, as some of you might have been aware of by now, Mackenzie announced she would not be posting around YouChew under the last moments of its existence, thus making it her official resignation. Second, and probably more importantly, I need to mention that while I will stay around and take on my Writing Staff role until the inevitable comes for us all, I likely will not be taking on any sort of equivalent Writing Staff position at either website (assuming we even have something like that around for either website). The reason why is I have started to become very busy with real life things myself, and with the recent shutdown announcements confirming things, I realized I just can't handle the responsibility for the long-term after spending so much time here helping the website be the best it could have possibly been as it is. The "NegroTed Was Right" thread really took a lot out of me emotionally, to the point where, save for this series and maybe professional motivations moving forward, I just did not have the power to write as effectively here as I used to anymore. For that, I am truly sorry for failing you guys in that regard.

So glad Despacito 2 got here. FlyingKitty is one of my favorite YTPers/editors just cause his humor is something you wouldn't really expect from YTPs on music videos. All the random sentences that get thrown in are hilarious in all the right ways.

He is a YTPer, at least it says so on his about page. He may not put "[YTP]" in his titles anymore but he still is. Apparently because of his more popular videos, like "Despacito 2" and "HUMBLE but Kendrick has a mental breakdown" he's now probably the most popular YTPer, and for a good reason (at least in my opinion).

@CODEREDJAROD Just based on that? Doesn't seem like a great place to start when evaluating a person and their body of work. Artificial numbers? Nah, son. Although, with that being said, I'm surprised I didn't run into his stuff sooner. It's solid as hell. I can definitely see where his popularity comes from, using edgy humor and superior editing skills to edit mainstream sources.

Pretty much taking a page out of the CS188 Pooping the Charts school of pooping.

@Sagan Blob Haven't really checked out what's been going on around me in a while now. When working on vids, it just happens that I just get very self-absorbed into the work. For better or for worse, I tend to marathon edit. Also, personal life is getting in the way a lot more too, so it's not as black and white as what I portray the situation to be.

Shame that YouChew is shutting down, even though I've not really been active here.

Before it closes, I've uploaded two YouTube poops since then if you want to check them out:

Thanks. :)
