Hey, apologies for getting this past month's entries out so late this time around. We've been a bit busy with trying to get a few new articles ready for action for the next few months in mind, some of which affected our time here. On top of that, we've got a new face joining the Writing Staff this time around (although for some older members, a rather old face by comparison). Granted, you won't be seeing a new YouTube Poop entry from him, but you can expect some more video game reviews to help out around here! Seriously, it's always nice to have a serious, helping hand around this place. Anyways, here's some of the YouTube Poops from this past month we personally enjoyed the most this time around!
Crazy Luigi's Pick: "YTP: The AVGN Takes a Dump on YouTube's Community Guidelines" by Paperking99
For some odd reason, one of the easiest, yet greatest pleasures within our history of YouTube Pooping things involves the Angry Video Game Nerd. Sure, he wasn't anywhere near the first of sources used for the purpose of making YouTube Poops, but there's something about him that has always felt consistent, yet never wavered in terms of quality, no matter what. He never had a moment like the CD-i sources where they managed to be involved in a witch hunt like the "AIDS Epidemic" against videos that were considered that to us in that period of time, nor has he experienced what the Nostalgia Critic has with a sharp suffering via declining quality when going from their past works to the present day (although in fairness, there are certain AVGN episodes that are of stronger quality than others). As a result, he's bound to somehow provide what might very well be some of the best YouTube Poops made in any particular year, almost every single year since YouTube Poop first grew on YouTube (which also was around the same time he became popular on that website as well). And if I'm being honest here, I think there are times where I'm kind of a sucker for certain YouTube Poops involving him, especially when it comes to episodes that could be considered all-time greats (at least to me). Of course, who better to create an all-around experience with a classic source like him than the ever talented Paperking99?
When starting out with an AVGN YouTube Poop, sometimes the introduction song by Kyle Justin is included to start out, but it's rare to get some quality material from it. Luckily, Paperking99 manages to get exactly that between mentioning that he's going to piss on a turtle, he'd rather eat Buffalo Wild Wings, and changing up his song into the Angry Video Game Critic's theme at the last moment. Some of these edits may seem so simplistic, but the way Paperking99 executes them in this video really helps makes his interpretation of the typical AVGN introduction song feel more fun and unique to watch when compared to most other video makers. The AVGN then talks about the drugs he takes, like crack, ecstasy, and mushrooms, which created a wonderful, albeit brief drug trip for him to encounter with said drugs mentioned. After that, Paperking99 manages to make sure he uses the episodes that he's used, such as the Intellivision, Atari Sports Games, NES Accessories, and a few others I don't immediately recognize off the top of my head (but have their great moments all the same) to his advantage for some more fantastic jokes moving forward. Jokes like him not knowing about STDs and him fucking the Nerds candy package (which later results in YouTube blocking his video, thus leading to the title of the video) provide some well-done moments in the first minute alone! And it only gets better from there.
The jokes revolving around the AVGN only seem to keep on getting better the further this video goes on. I mean, when he talks about television (via the Intellivision), it goes into how the TV nowadays sucks with the Intellivision inside it before talking about how television makes a lot of sense with a few simple, yet effective brain-rape effects involved, which got me laughing quite a bit there! Same goes for when he mentions the Powerfield by going from talking about a three-dimensional, invisible force-field to the simple, ordinary fuckfest that had to be sped up to keep pace with what was going on before responding with a simple "damn man," which got me quite a lot. Of course, I shouldn't go through the entire video without mentioning the other sources here. The amount of times they show up are rather rare, but when they appear, they also help enhance some of the jokes in this video as well. I already told you about the intro a bit (with Scared Squirrel making sure you don't touch that dial), but there's also bits like when Mario from Hotel Mario answer the AVGN's question on expecting him to say it's harder to stick in a bleeding vagina, SpongeBob SquarePants' Mermaid-Man & Barnacle Boy interrupting the B-17 Bomber title screen for Bongo/Bing, and even Childish Gambino's "This Is America" music video that also help enhance some of the jokes as well. Not to mention there's the fact that he somehow managed to make mayonnaise an instrument at long last. I can go on and on with this a bit more, believe me, but you're better off watching the video at this point in time to see everything I'm saying in execution.
TheOneManBoxOffice's Pick: "CEASE THOSE OBNOXIOUS CANINE UTTERANCES YOU'LL AWAKEN THE HOMO SAPIEN NEONATE" by BananaMannafoot
The user named dew has made her return to YouTube Poop as of late (see Mackenzie's entry below), and what better way to celebrate her triumphant return than make a tribute video done in the same hilarious style as the one she used on many a Grinch YouTube Poop. Our resident Disney nut-job (and I mean that in a good way), BananaMannafoot, did exactly that with a rather quotable piece using clips from the 1955 film Lady and the Tramp. You know, that movie famous for the spaghetti kiss bit that practically everyone has paid tribute to/made fun of? Much like with dew's Grinch videos, this YouTube Poop is rather simple and goes at a steady pace, relying on build-ups and funny repeats. For me, it hit my funny bone every single time, and I like the few effects he puts in to make it pop out more. This, and dew's Grinch videos once again prove that you don't need too many flashy effects and fast-paced editing to make a YouTube Poop funny. On the contrary, you can still do much with the bare basics, repeats, ear-rape, and all. If one were to say otherwise, I would only have one suggestion for that person: MOVE IT OVER, WILL YOU FRIEND?
Dieathan's Pick: "YTP - M A D (collab entry)" by MAD RUSTY
MAD RUSTY is a YouTube Pooper that has been around (at least to my knowledge) since the start of 2016, yet despite having not gotten much attention in that time, it's only now that has he really piqued my interest with his recent entry into Paperking99's third Experimental Collab. Aside from bringing some truly surreal and entrancing erosion-based visuals, it also splices in plenty of dark, mature, and sophisticated themes to create an atmosphere that I could really get immersed in. If I were to describe the journey of this YouTube Poop, it would be how the abuse of drugs such as LSD can lead to our own demise implied to be due to overwhelming regret in our own life decisions, along with the chaos that entrails it, and how life just continues to move on without us, through good and bad times alike. It reminds us of that dark corner of humanity that can surface through one's own madness and despair, while also presenting it in a clever and abstract way that results in something utterly beautiful and meaningful. I almost feel ashamed that I never picked up on MAD RUSTY's work before now, but either way, I feel this YouTube Poop is certainly worth the time, and will undoubtedly help him make a name for himself.
NitroEdits' (NEW) Pick: "Bits & Bobs" by FishTitan64
In recent times, few have been more of an inspiration to me than FishTitan64. All of his videos take immense amounts of reversals and external jokes and effects and endlessly give you a one two punch with every video he creates. He's been more inactive lately which gave me even more of a surprise seeing this video in my sub box
Bits & Bobs takes the unlikely source of various interviews with the cast of The Force Awakens and splices and chops them to make them sound like they're gut-bustlingly insane, He even takes John Boyega trying to impersonate castmate Daisy Ridley and makes it sound like he is having the largest stroke known to mankind. Nicely timed reversals and fantastic stutters bring this whole video together with a fun segment with Harrison Ford, a pretty damn good Michael Rosen bit, and a YouTube Poop Music Video in light of John Cena's recent audition as the new host of Blue's Clues. In short, it's a fun little diddy that'll tickle your funny bone and another bonafide classic from the god of sea creatures himself.
Mackenzie's Pick: "marie antoinette in the house of animal and furniture incels" by dew
The past month marked the grand return of a legend, our very own dew. Having been absent for over a year on both the forum and the video business, she lately returned online to us on YouChew. Finally, just this last month, she published her first new video in a long, long while.
I'm becoming a bit predictable with my picks lately. No matter how much I like effects and glitches, I keep on picking rather classic, old-school videos as my monthly picks. This video is not an exception. Returning to a classic style of YouTube Poop, dew's video revolves around clip repetition and sentence-mixing, which is a refreshing change of style in the era of high-voltage erosion. The main plot point of the video is a reverse furry scenario. Humorously edited and mixed, the beast is simply requesting for Belle to cum, which goes on for a full two and a half minutes. Simple, but humorous visual effects are a delicious icing on the cake. We never reach any closure on the scene, as it goes on over the entire length of the video. The video as a whole just simply brings me back, as it is childish in the best way possible. As a lover of music loops, I gotta give props to the scene starting around 1:26. Not only does it match the song to begin with, but the punches are matched to the beat later on in the song. It's classic and effective.
This YouTube Poop is not only neatly made and edited in a fun way; I'm also biased towards loving this YouTube Poop simply as the source is one of my favorite Disney movies of all time. While it's nowhere near the very first YouTube Poop featuring the 1991 version of Beauty and the Beast as its main source, it is at the very least the most memorable one for me. I hope, think, and bet I'm not the only member here wishing to see more from dew in the near future.
And with that, we conclude the list for the month of June in the year 2018. Once again, we apologize for the pretty big delay for the month. However, the goal for this year (to me, at least) is to make it through the entire year without missing a single month here, and by God, I plan on keeping it as such, regardless of whatever challenges may come my way! Anyways, if there's any YouTube Poops we might have missed out on this past months, we're all ears. In fact, to showcase that we do have some tough decisions at hand sometimes, our own Dieathan had two different choices in mind that he originally wanted to talk about (one being dew's video above and another from NKpower, although that one I think might have been missed out on due to some confusion on my end) before going for the video he decided upon. So no, it's not just the possibility of not having the opportunity at hand; sometimes it's nothing more than just deciding on multiple YouTube Poop entries altogether. Beyond that, enjoy the videos released today, and hopefully we enjoy a better July altogether moving forward.
