Recommended YouTube Poops of May & June 2017

Crazy Luigi
  • After a month of writer's block, the Recommended YouTube Poops are back on with May & June's entries for 2017!

I realize that this feels kind of like some kind of joke or repetitive gag or something like that now, but this time, I feel like I really have to apologize for May's push back this time around. For the month of May, I had a video I felt like I wanted to talk about, but for the life of me, I was uncharacteristically blank faced when it came to talking about the video I chose for that month, even though everyone else's choices were essentially done for that month. Seriously, I tried my best to come up with something that would usually befit my personal standards when it comes to my entries, but I ultimately had nothing down at all by the time I was supposed to publish that May 2017 article. The fact that it took over a month to even come up with something even halfway decent on my end is more inexcusable on my end and I do regret not having that down sooner rather than later. Nevertheless, I not only got something down in time for the June 2017 piece's release, but I also finished my entry to fit it in with the rest of the grouping also! So with that said, I do hope you enjoy the best of the best YouTube Poops from the past two months here.

Crazy Luigi's Pick: "This Poop Has Penis In It" by CheeChee / PCB (May)

When it comes to watching YouTube Poops, there are still many tricks that you can still see that might very well surprise you, regardless of how many years of experience you've had watching them. Granted, sometimes they are a lot more difficult to talk about the further you go along with it, especially considering certain sub-genres like the one I'm about to talk about right here, but they still can give you something new to learn moving forward about the craft. Case in point, this video with a guy making a clay sculpture of something like a castle or something like that; I don't know the source on this one. While I may not know all the specifics regarding the original video in question, I do know that the effects the creator of this video used help elevate the video to a whole different level. Granted, it does help that the humor in this video is top notch despite its rather condescending title that looks like it's against itself, but that's more of a side effect for what the star of the video really is like. I've spent over an entire month trying to describe some of the video's effects to the best of my abilities, but I've ultimately come up with nothing that I can describe here to actually give this video it's due justice. All I really can say, though, is that if you haven't seen this video before, you should change that right now, because the effects that this person's come up with really are incredible in their own rights!

TheOneManBoxOffice's Pick: "Hunger Patrol of the Hills - King of the Hill YouTube Poop (YTP)" by HinaTan250 & Hankster Hillington (May)

Oh man, where do I begin with this one? Now I don't watch a whole lot of YouTube Poops as much as I used to, so I haven't heard of either one of HinaTan250 or Hankster Hillington before; that is, until just recently when I came across their latest YouTube Poop team-up, entitled "Hunger Patrol of the Hills". I could say that this thing is on par with MoBrosStudios' "Skellington's Revenge" from 3 years ago in terms of how well done this is and end it there, but I'd be going a little too ahead of myself, so I'll explain why that is. This is a video that involved characters from both Fox's King of the Hill and Cartoon Network/Adult Swim's Aqua Teen Hunger Force series interacting with one-another in the style of a crossover episode. What's amazing about this is that the duo almost perfectly masked all of the characters frame-by-frame into both universes, which sounds like a very tedious process (here's a shocker, it is). Because of this, the whole thing actually looks pretty damn professional, as if it's an official legitimate product. You don't see that often in other YouTube Poops, as a lot of us usually don't go into the nitty gritty in terms of masking. The video itself is also pretty damn funny, as the Aqua Teen Hunger Force characters interact with the King of the Hill environments and vice versa. So, for its professional look and blending of two great adult animated series, this is definitely my pick of YouTube Poop of the Month for May.

Dieathan's Pick: "[YTP] Captain Underpants Sets You Free" by NationOfOranges696 (May)

Over the years I've spent watching YouTube Poops, there are some that I can't help but be reminded of the many YouTube Poopers out there that have long since left the scene. Upon watching NationOfOranges696's "[YTP] Captain Underpants Sets You Free", I had that same feeling once again, being reminded of dew in particular and how much I enjoyed the work that she put out towards the end of her YouTube Pooping career. However, while the pacing and Poopisms used in this video were somewhat akin to that of something I would've expected from dew, making great use of stuttering, scrambling, repeating, slowdowns and speedups, and sudden outbursts of ear-rape, at the same time it still manages to have its own identity. NationOfOranges696 really utilizes the source of Captain Underpants well, proceeding to put a spin on one of the running gags present throughout the original children's novels the film is based upon. As a fan of the novels myself, I was impressed to see the Jerome Howitz Elementary signboard rearranged into "All Toasters Toast Toast", done in such a way that feels like it belongs in the shot as opposed to being imposed over the signboard itself with a simple string of text, and it's small details like that goes to show how passionate NationOfOranges696 was in regards to putting this video together. Even the Top 10 Anime Villains indent thrown in for a split second amidst Mr Krupp's maniacal laughter presents itself as a well-timed visual gag throughout the scrambling and stutters surrounding it. Other sources are used quite sparingly, though I found each time they were used, it only added more to what was already an amazing YouTube Poop. All in all, I'm happy to see that dew's inspiration can still shine through to modern YouTube Poops to this day, and this video here serves to be a testament to that.

Thebluespectre's Pick: "Sorry! I MADE A BETTER VIDEOTubePoop. The Vid." by fiv95 (May)

Is it biased to pick a YouTube Poop by an artist who is part of these forums, even though it was from last month? Yes? Maybe? Shut up. First of all, Edo stutter loops, apparently taken from educational television? I appreciate obscure video sources wherever they show up, so that was kind of cool. The sentence mixing is pretty good, and that's because of the very fine audio balance. It would have been easy to create ear rape strong enough to destroy your speakers, but fiv95 decided to make the audio weird and disturbing without relying on making you or your computer sick. What a guy. Also, pornography but not really. A good YouTube Poop is one that you can never, ever explain to your parents. P.S., The scraps from other projects were pretty neat too. Zelda CD-i has been done before, but rarely does a YouTube Poop use almost none of the audio from the games. Keeping it unique!

Crazy Luigi's Pick: "HEY DIE AZZ" by ThemOldaBoys (June)

I still stand by the belief that if you have the imagination at hand, you can make just about anything become worthy of an amazing YouTube Poop! For me, anything, and I do mean anything can absolutely provide you enough great material for you to create something unique and interesting for the YouTube Poop community as a whole, and nothing did that any better than this video by ThemOldaBoys. Luckily with this video (via its description), I know the actual context for what the main source is, even though I clearly know it relates to something that happened within a baseball game that likely wouldn't have been picked up in regular broadcasting otherwise. Long story short, in a 2012 game between the Atlanta Braves and New York Mets, a Mets heckler (because typical New York baseball man fan behavior) managed to target a Braves player named Matt Diaz for reasons I don't know of or would have the time to talk about here. All you really need to know here is that ThemOldaBoys provides a spectacular job at utilizing the egregious shit that the heckler said to the Braves player into pure, timeless comedy gold! From the numerous edits to make him sound completely different to the scene being all fucked up at moments, ThemOldaBoys uses his edits very cleverly to make them sound incredible, which is impressive for a video that's only a minute long. Even the two times he uses different sources (Yu-Gi-Oh! and Atlantis: The Lost Empire) made me laugh at the way the heckler's dialogue were used to act out the (in)famous "It's time to D-D-D-D... D-D-D-D-Duel!" line in its English 4Kids introduction and how Milo's going back to Atlantis respectively. There was a reason why ThemOldaBoys won YouChew's The Best YouTube Poop of 2016 honor, and I wouldn't be surprised if a video of his at the very least enters the competition for 2017 as well. For me, this video takes my cake and easily made Diaz die from the insanity that followed suit.

Biodegradable's Pick: "YouTube Poop: the world is a deadly religion, i guess" by CODEandAR (June)

CODEandAR, who I affectionately refer to as The Super Duper Pooper Bros, have jumped on the Bill Wurtz source train and opted for a YouTube Poop on the History of The Entire World. The lads have shown some terrific work over the past year, but this particular has been a stand-out for me that perfectly encompasses their comedic chops, great sense of pacing and impressive editing skills. They were really on point with their gags, sentence-mixing, little cut-out animations and utilization of audio/visual feedback to complement all their Poopisms throughout the video. The latter is what can really attract me to a YouTube Poop, that understanding of a video being a visual medium, and taking that notion with earnest to keep things visually as almost every edit has both an audible and visual response that prevents the video from becoming boring. I've been subbed to these guys for a few months now and I think you should be too.

Dieathan's Pick: "YTP: SputnikBob and the Fatal Vatican Fracking Chronicles Vol. III" by MassimoV (June)

While there exists all kinds of story-based YouTube Poops, most of them rely on sentence-mixing and a coherent narrative to tell its story to the viewer. MassimoV's SputnikBob and the Fatal Vatican Fracking Chrinicles Vol. III comes from a similar vein of video, but it conveys its narrative in a far more abstract manner. Oddly enough, I found it to be incredibly memorable all throughout, providing more than I could've ever anticipated. He doesn't just use the narrative as a means of pumping out a series of quick and simple jokes, but he utilizes it to string together a plethora of eye-catching and thought-provoking visuals through 3D effects, distortions, and music that bring across the mood of each scene amazingly well, and altogether it forms a certain ambiance which I really admire. Probably what really caught my attention though is that from what I witnessed in this video, is that it pieced together a particularly dark and tragic tale, which was honestly quite unexpected given the primary source used in this YouTube Poop is SpongeBob SquarePants of all things. The tale that this video encapsulates tells us about the mental breakdown of Squidward Tentacles as he comes to terms with reality in that his fellow neighbors, Spongebob and Patrick, have long since perished within a cardboard box which they themselves obsessed over day in and day out as they lost their own perceptions of what was real and what was not. Squidward soon comes to the realization that he himself has been trapped as a prisoner to his own delusions ever since, losing the very grip of reality that holds him together, believing in what no longer is or cannot be, akin to that of the fate of those who were once with him. I couldn't help but press on through this YouTube Poop if only to seek out what strangely twisted yet engrossing imagery it would present me with next, and to see what awaits Squidward at the end of his tortuous journey. If this is truly what MassimoV is capable of in regard to his YouTube Poops, then I can't help but to applaud his efforts for putting out something so engaging and emotional.

And with that, we close off the Recommended YouTube Poops for May and June 2017. Not only that, but I also want to announce that we have a new interview coming out next week! This time, the interview will come from someone that had an entry down for this list here. As for who the person being interviewed will be... let's just say that it's someone that you could see as an entry for this article. Until then, enjoy the entries we've had these past two months!

You know, since you two are here, I might as well ask how the work on that particular video went. You know, so that way I can figure out how to properly utilize that medal for having a YouTube Poop of yours being mentioned in a Recommended YouTube Poops article this time around.
