What is YouTube Poop? A great primer is on our wiki, Chewiki, and should tell you just about everything you want to know. If you want the skinny, YTP is basically this: videos humorously or bizarrely edited from numerous sources, for the purposes of entertaining the viewer or the creator.
The odd name stems from a time when YouTube was young and wasn’t filled to the brim with millions of videos; these things were meant to be stumbled upon in search of something else, an in-joke between friends…”Uploading poop to YouTube”.
Despite (or maybe because of) its name, YouTube Poop continues to thrive as one of the longest-lasting and most beloved internet phenomenons in the world. Outgrowing the confines of the typical meme cynical, YTP gains new fans and evolves with each new generation of the internet.
This website, continuing a long legacy, is dedicated to being the central network of the foul-named cultural touchstone, with featured videos, community happenings, an archive directory, a wiki, and much more. No matter if you’ve been with the community for years or are just now stumbling into this wild world: welcome, and please enjoy your stay.
Dopply – Site Owner, Contributor, Developer
A long-time community figure, Dopply has been involved one way or another since 2007. This site is a culmination of everything he’s learned, and a way to give back to the community that he basically grew up with. When not tinkering with one of his many projects (be it game development, site development, community management, video production/editing…the list goes on…), he is an avid video game fan, playing a large library he intends to someday finish. Oh, he’s been getting pretty good at the whole cooking thing too, especially BBQ. He is very happily married to his wonderful wife, with a family of pets they adore.
Dew – Administrator, Contributor, Archivist, Wiki Sysop
Dew has been involved in the community since 2010, and has been proudly living out as transgender (she/her pronouns) since 2015. Many years of experience in several different areas of the community over time has given her a broad insight and knowledge about much of the communities past, especially the lesser known sectors, and she remains passionate about YTP and its history into the present. She is active as a musician under her chosen name, and is often working on upcoming songs, music videos, artwork and releases when not working within the scope of YTP. She is greatly fascinated with the history of a variety of artistic mediums, namely music, animation and film, and loves to talk about/make jokes about all three. She has lived a rough life, often plagued by poverty, housing insecurity and unsafe environments, yet she still makes time for the things she loves in between them, contributing to this site being one of them, finding that along with making music, making and/or talking/writing about YTP strangely seems to help her cope.
AwesomeGuy117 – Moderator, Contributor, Archivist, Wiki Sysop
Previously known in the community as BananaMannafoot, AwesomeGuy is a newer member of the YouChew team, starting his involvement in 2016 as a regular user. However, he first discovered YouTube Poop back in 2008 and has followed creators of old and new ever since, eventually making his own in 2009 and continuing his output to this very day with regular YTPs, tennis rounds, and the occasional collab. He also runs his own Discord server, which is also the home for the YouTube Poop Review podcast, of which he started in early 2019 with over 75 episodes and counting with many special appearances from the likes of coolcat001100, GameBop, Geibuchan, Goop Videos, Stuart K. Reilly, ThePlamzJoker, & more.
