So that was a fun couple weeks.
I don't have too much to say as I am really tired right now, but we are now running on a better and faster server after the one we were previously using died. I do apologize for the long wait.
We're still not fully 100% back, I have a lot more things to do, but we're at a point where everyone can use YouChew without any big issues. Currently search isn't working but I will have that fixed tomorrow.
If you find anything wrong, please post about it here or create a ticket in the tracker. Thanks!
And before I forget, thanks to everyone who donated, the entire server was payed by you guys. I'll write up a blog post later this week thanking everyone individually.
So then, welcome back everyone!70
Tabull, I wanted to post this comment before YouChew went back up, (but, Planet Freedom prevented me from doing so!), I just want to give you great thanks for your work & hope you deserve a well earned rest.
Now, when I first found out that YouChew was down, I was immediately on the lines of "GAWD! NOW WHAT R WE GONNA DO??!!?", but when I went to the Planet Freedom, I realized that I was missing the bigger picture... BIG TIME, & I sincerely apologize for that.
So, other than that, tab, thanks a bunch for all your work, & LET'S CELEBRATE!
I just now noticed this since I was out looking into a potential job opportunity today at American Express! Anyways, I'm thankful we're back on track here since I did want to look into information here for researching purposes earlier. I'm just glad to have it happen today of all days now!
Oh right, I was supposed to explain all that.
So, basically a couple weeks ago, I had a pretty big power outage (entire neighborhood and the nearby Wal-Mart lost power). After everything came back, the server turned on like it usually does, but the site wasn't coming back. After looking into it more I noticed that there was no video output and the fan wasn't running. I ordered a new power adapter the next day, but when that arrived the same thing happened, so pretty much the server's motherboard had fried. Nothing else connected to the surge protector was affected, just the server. Regardless, I got rid of it and bought a new UPS with the new server so any kind of power outage/surge should be protected from the server.
